During the dragon crisis, all those who were able to fight were expected to challenge the great red dragon, yet no one could defeat the fearsome beast. That is, until the great Galliaus Chamberlane stepped up and formed the Spire.
Named after the highest mountain that the dragon called home, Galliaus gathered all the willing and able men and women - regardless of race, or any other bias - so that the beast could be slain.
Many fell, but it was the sheer determination and unstoppable force of Galliaus that rallied all the gather together to bring honor within the realm.
But, that was over a hundred years ago.
Now, the spire serve as the main force of law enforcement in the Kingdom of Krynthe, as well as serve as border patrol. Although, they are not part of the castle’s law enforcement by any means - as they believe to be too honorable to work under someone else.
This makes them much like hired mercenaries, although for the most part - with good intentions for the populous, as they keep the city safe on a moral obligation, not for coinage or glory.
